Baogang Group announced that its listed subsidiary, Baogang Steel, has completed the first commercial delivery of a newly developed rare earthโenhanced, corrosion-resistant energy pipe, purpose-built to withstand carbon dioxide (COโ) and hydrogen sulfide (HโS) corrosion. The pipes have already been successfully deployed downhole at a major domestic oilfield, marking a transition from R&D to real-world industrial use.
According to Baogangโs Steel Pipe Division, the new product targets one of the oil and gas sectorโs most persistent technical bottlenecks: safe extraction from โthree-highโ reservoirsโhigh temperature, high pressure, and high corrosion. As global energy demand rises, such challenging fields are becoming increasingly important, but corrosive agents like COโ and HโS can cause rapid pipe degradation, perforation, and stress cracking, raising safety risks and operating costs.
