About Gansu Rare Earth New Materials

Gansu Rare Earth New Materials Co., Ltd. (甘肃稀土新材料股份有限公司) is a rare earth producer headquartered in Baiyin, Gansu Province. It was reorganized into China Northern Rare Earth in 2018 and is a consolidated subsidiary, with China Northern Rare Earth holding 48.26% of its registered capital. China Northern Rare Earth is controlled by the state-owned Baogang (Baotou Iron and Steel) group. Gansu Rare Earth Group, the former provincial parent, is a separate company.

China Northern Rare Earth’s 2024 annual report gives its capacities as 58,400 metric tons a year of rare earth separation, 7,400 metric tons of rare earth metals, 5,000 metric tons of magnet materials, 8,000 metric tons of polishing materials and 5,000 metric tons of hydrogen-storage materials.
