About TEXMiN Foundation
TEXMiN (Technology Innovation in Exploration & Mining) Foundation is a government-backed mining technology innovation hub hosted at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad in Jharkhand, India. Incorporated in October 2020 as a Section-8 (not-for-profit) company under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) of India’s Department of Science and Technology, TEXMiN develops commercially viable cyber-physical solutions for mineral exploration and mining. Its focus spans IoT, AI/ML, blockchain, drones, robotics and satellite imagery to enable 3S mining (Safe, Smart and Sustainable) and India’s broader Mining 4.0 transition, including work relevant to critical-mineral and rare-earth exploration. TEXMiN functions as a think-tank, incubator and commercialization body. It partnered with Dassault Systemes to establish a mining-technology Centre of Excellence and, in 2026, announced collaborations with NTPC Mining, Agilent Technologies India and Anton Paar India to strengthen India’s mining-innovation ecosystem.
