Chengdu Ascend Magnetic Tech & Products Co., Ltd. (CAM-Magnet) is a privately held Chinese rare-earth permanent-magnet manufacturer based in the Dujiangyan Economic Development Zone in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. The company specializes in high-performance rare-earth magnets, with a particular focus on samarium-cobalt (SmCo) materials, and also produces neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets, backed by a founding team with nearly 30 years of industry experience. CAM-Magnet’s SmCo magnets are valued for their high thermal stability, corrosion resistance, and long service life, making them suitable for aerospace, defense components, high-temperature industrial motors, oil-and-gas tools, and precision instrumentation where NdFeB magnets cannot perform. The company occupies a downstream position in the rare-earth supply chain, converting refined samarium, cobalt, neodymium, and praseodymium into finished magnet products. REEx news coverage has reported that the company halted SmCo magnet production in 2025 under China’s rare earth export controls, which require government permits for samarium shipments.
