About Dauch Corporation (GKN Powder Metallurgy)
Dauch Corporation (NYSE: DCH), formerly American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, is a U.S. automotive driveline and metal-forming supplier headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, with operations across North America, Asia, Europe and South America. In February 2026 the company completed its US$1.44 billion acquisition of UK-based Dowlais Group plc, owner of GKN Automotive and GKN Powder Metallurgy, and rebranded as Dauch Corporation.
GKN Powder Metallurgy is a global leader in metal powders and sintered components and had been developing rare-earth permanent magnets, operating a pilot magnet plant in Germany with plans for commercial neodymium-iron-boron magnet capacity in Europe. Following the takeover, the newly formed Dauch Corporation cancelled those European rare-earth magnet plans, treating magnets as non-core, a notable setback for Europe’s ambitions to build domestic rare-earth magnet manufacturing and reduce reliance on Chinese supply.
