About Magnetfabrik Bonn
Magnetfabrik Bonn GmbH is a German manufacturer of permanent magnets headquartered in Bonn, Germany. Founded in 1932, the privately held, family-run company employs around 150 specialists and is a pioneer in polymer-bonded (injection-molded and compression-molded) and sintered permanent magnets. Magnetfabrik Bonn began rare-earth magnet production in 1986 and produces neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) and samarium-cobalt (SmCo) magnets, marketed under brands including Neofer for bonded NdFeB material. Its magnet systems and assemblies serve automotive sensors, electric motors, household appliances, and industrial automation, providing control, position-sensing, and drive functions. Historically, a Magnetfabrik Bonn magnet system flew aboard NASA’s Pioneer Venus probe to measure atmospheric composition. As a downstream magnet maker, the company sits at the manufacturing end of the rare-earth supply chain, converting NdFeB and SmCo materials into finished magnetic components for global customers.
