Meteoric Resources (opens in a new tab) is aggressively advancing the Caldeira Rare Earth Ionic Clay Project in MinasGerais (opens in a new tab), Brazil, home to the world’s highest-grade ionic absorption rare earth deposit. The project spans 69 licenses covering 193 km², with a Global Mineral Resource Estimate of 740 million tonnes at 2,572 ppm TREO.

Early exploration has focused on Capão do Mel, Soberbo, and Figueira, though the majority of the land package remains untested, offering substantial upside. Positioned within the Poços de Caldas Alkaline Intrusive Complex, a geologically rich region also hosting bauxite, uranium, zirconium, and leucite, Caldeira is well-placed for strategic development.

The ion-adsorption clay metallurgy enables Meteoric to produce Mixed Rare Earth Carbonate (MREC) at lower costs and energy consumption compared to hard rock deposits, further supported by renewable energy-powered infrastructure.

A 2024 Scoping Study confirmed that Caldeira could become the world’s lowest-cost rare earth producer, boasting exceptional financial metrics, industry-leading operating costs, and a 20-year mine life based on high-confidence resources. The study underscores Caldeira’s low capital intensity, simple processing methods, and high environmental credentials—requiring no drilling, blasting, or tailings dams. With over 60 unexplored licenses and ongoing resource expansion, Caldeira has the potential to evolve into a multi-generational rare earth district. A Pre-Feasibility Study is set for completion in early 2025, further solidifying Meteoric’s ambition to transform Caldeira into a world-class REE hub.

Believe Meteoric got a large strategic LOI from the Biden Admin’. Issue for shareholders is whether the Trump Admin’ will 1) back a former Biden focus and 2) anything to do with the present Brazilian Admin’ of which the US Prescient is not a great admirer. GLTA – REI
