About Peak Rare Earths
Peak Rare Earths Limited (formerly Peak Resources) is an ASX-listed rare-earth developer headquartered in Perth, Australia, advancing the Ngualla Rare Earth Project in southwest Tanzania. Ngualla is one of the world’s largest and highest-grade undeveloped neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) carbonatite deposits outside China, with a JORC resource of about 214.9 million tonnes at 2.24% total rare-earth oxide. The project, held through subsidiary Mamba Minerals (84% Peak, 16% Government of Tanzania), was granted a Special Mining Licence in 2023 and is paired with a planned downstream refinery to produce separated rare-earth oxides; the company has historically evaluated a UK Teesside refinery for processing. In 2025 Ganzhou Chenguang Rare Earths, a subsidiary of China’s Shenghe Resources, moved to acquire Peak for around A$158 million to take full control of Ngualla, after Peak declined a competing US-backed bid.
In May 2025 a subsidiary of Shenghe Resources moved to acquire Peak Rare Earths by scheme of arrangement in a deal valued at about A$158 million. Peak’s ASX code no longer resolves on the ASX; completion has not been confirmed here from an ASX or Shenghe filing.
