LLC Lovozersky GOK (Lovozersky Mining and Processing Plant) is a rare-earth mining and processing enterprise in the Lovozero district of Russia’s Murmansk region, on the Kola Peninsula. It mines loparite ore underground at the Karnasurt mine and concentrates it; the company describes itself as the only enterprise in Russia that mines and concentrates rare-earth ore. Lovozersky ships its loparite concentrate to Solikamsk Magnesium Works, which recovers tantalum, niobium and titanium and produces an unseparated rare-earth carbonate. Lovozersky GOK is an enterprise of Rosatom’s mining division, whose managing company is Rosatom Nedra.
