About Orano
Orano SA is a French multinational nuclear fuel-cycle company headquartered in Châtillon, France, and majority owned by the French state. Created in 2017 from the restructuring of Areva, Orano spans uranium mining, conversion and enrichment, spent-fuel recycling, logistics, dismantling and nuclear engineering, with mining operations in Canada, Kazakhstan and Niger. In September 2025 Orano and the CEA inaugurated a pilot line in Grenoble for recycling and manufacturing rare-earth permanent magnets, focused on a short-loop recycling process. Orano is also building lithium and battery-materials recycling activities.
