About Remloy
Remloy (Heraeus Remloy) is a rare earth permanent magnet recycling business operating a dedicated recycling plant for neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets in Bitterfeld, Germany. The facility processes end-of-life and scrap rare earth magnets through a melting-based ‘medium loop’ recycling technique to produce NdFeB alloy powders for the bonded and hot-deformed magnet markets. The plant is fully commissioned and focused on small-scale production for product optimization and initial sales, with a target capacity of at least 500 tonnes a year of NdFeB alloy powder. The process reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 80 percent versus primary production while delivering equivalent magnet quality, recovering critical elements neodymium, praseodymium and dysprosium. Originally established by German technology group Heraeus, the Remloy operation was acquired in 2026 by Vancouver-based Mkango Resources Ltd. for EUR 8 million, expanding Mkango’s European rare earth recycling footprint alongside its HyProMag operations.
