About Rare Earths Norway
Rare Earths Norway (REN) is a privately held Norwegian company developing the Fen Carbonatite Complex in Nome municipality, Telemark. REN says it was established in 2016 to develop Fen; the Norwegian business register gives its founding date as February 2017. The company says its extraction permit covers approximately 90% of the REE-bearing iron-dolomite carbonatite at Fen, a volcanic feeder pipe formed about 580 million years ago. REN reports that an updated estimate by WSP raised the total rare earth oxide content of its Indicated and Inferred resources from 8.8 million tonnes in 2024 to 15.9 million tonnes in 2026. Its stated vision is to become an important supplier of mixed rare earth concentrate in Europe, and it promotes what it calls an “invisible mine” concept. Håvard Moe is chief executive.
