America Cannot Defeat China's Industrial Machine While Alienating Its Allies

Oct 15, 2026

4 minute read.

Highlights

  • Globalization theory failed: China absorbed Western capital without adopting democratic institutions, building a state-directed industrial powerhouse instead.
  • Trump's tariff-driven diplomacy risks fracturing the allied ecosystems essential to challenging China's rare earth and critical minerals dominance.
  • REEx warns that rebuilding U.S. industrial capacity requires cultural transformation, long-term planning, and trusted democratic alliances—not zero-sum mercantilism.
  • China's vulnerabilities—overcapacity, weak demand, political centralization—can only be exploited through coordinated allied innovation and shared supply chains.
  • America's greatest strategic assets are its democratic culture, entrepreneurial dynamism, and alliances; squandering them would be a historic mistake.

A telling observation Doc, America's DFC/EXIM strategy appears to be becoming driven down an 'only for America' road. Despite the DFC's mandate that "DFC mobilizes private capital to advance U.S. foreign policy and drive meaningful economic development for ALLIES and partners", Project Vault, WARP, Orion, ....etc are now only looking at establishing US based supply chains. Where has the money gone? Apart from a Ballroom, and a 747 ? just one marginally economic LRE mine, and a hand full of questionable prospects that have little hope of surviving without massive and ongoing taxpayer subsidies!

In the meantime, your "Allies" that do have projects that are viable and can be brought online fairly quickly, are being strung along with talk and empty promises. Thankfully for the rest of us, America's once Allie to the North has woken up to this and is now rapidly establishing alliances to form a Western block the values Truth, Honesty and Integrity over personal narcissistic greed.
