On March 11, Li Xiao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Baogang (Group) Company, led a team to conduct research at First Machinery Group (opens in a new tab), a military manufacturer in China based in the Inner Mongolia region. They are known as a supplier of various military equipment to the PLA Army (opens in a new tab). It has also been known as Factory 617 and the Baotou Tank Plant. During the visit, the parties held discussions with Wang Yongle, (opens in a new tab) Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of First Machinery Group, focusing on material design and development, equipment manufacturing, and deepening regional industrial collaboration.
Wang Yongle welcomed Li Xiao and his delegation, introducing the development history, current main business sectors, and operational development of First Machinery Group, and reviewed the cooperation history between the two parties. He expressed that First Machinery Group and Baogang Group have established a good cooperative relationship over long-term development.
He hopes that both parties will strengthen communication and coordination, continuously leverage their respective advantages, explore new cooperation models in areas such as industrial internet platforms, intelligent logistics, and rare earth material applications, establish regular communication mechanisms, promote the integration of the entire chain of technology research and development, jointly build a competitive industrial chain, and contribute to the high-quality development of the local economy.
Li Xiao thanked First Machinery Group for its long-term attention and support to Baogang’s development and introduced Baogang Group’s operational development. He stated that in recent years, Baogang Group has actively seized national policy opportunities, accelerated the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and focused on cultivating and developing emerging industries such as high-end equipment manufacturing, rare earth permanent magnet motors, and new rare earth materials.
By fully leveraging the advantages of leading enterprises in the chain, they aim to extend, supplement, and strengthen the industrial chain, develop new quality productivity, and serve as the main force in the construction of the “two rare earth bases.” He hopes that both parties can further strengthen exchanges, leverage advantages in location, industry, resources, and technological innovation, deepen cooperation in raw material supply, new product research and development, and related industries, achieve complementary advantages, mutual benefit, and win-win results, and jointly contribute to the implementation of the five major tasks.
Before the discussion, Li Xiao and his delegation also visited the exhibition hall of First Machinery Group, the military and civilian product production lines, and Inner Mongolia Digital Industrial Internet Technology Co., Ltd.
Deputy General Manager of First Machinery Group Wang Baoying, Assistant General Manager Jia Yanzhong, Deputy Chief Engineer Liu Rui, Deputy Chief Economist Zhao Zhenhua, and heads of relevant departments and units from both sides participated in the research.
