About Ionic Rare Earths
Ionic Rare Earths (ASX: IXR) is an Australian rare earths company headquartered in Melbourne, focused on heavy rare earth element production and magnet recycling. Its flagship Makuutu Rare Earths Project in eastern Uganda, held through 94%-owned Rwenzori Rare Metals, is an ionic-adsorption-clay deposit rich in heavy and critical rare earths, where a demonstration plant produces mixed rare earth carbonate for offtake and financing discussions.
Through its wholly owned subsidiary Ionic Technologies, the company operates a magnet recycling facility in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where it produces separated rare earth oxides from end-of-life NdFeB magnets and is advancing a 400-tonne-per-year commercial plant toward final investment decision and first production. Ionic Rare Earths targets neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium and terbium across both its primary Ugandan resource and recycling operations, positioning itself as an integrated ex-China supplier of magnet rare earths.
