About JSC GIREDMET
JSC Giredmet (the State Research and Design Institute of the Rare-Metal Industry), named after N.P. Sazhin, is a leading Russian materials-science and engineering institute headquartered in Moscow and part of the scientific division of the state nuclear corporation Rosatom. Founded in 1931, Giredmet specializes in rare and rare-earth metals, high-purity compounds, semiconductor and functional materials. Its capabilities span the full innovation chain, from research and process development through equipment design, plant engineering and industrial start-up, and include hydrometallurgical separation and extraction of rare and precious metals, rare-earth alloys and powders, ultra-high-purity compounds, semiconductor wafers, scintillation crystals and infrared optical materials. Central to Russia’s effort to build sovereign rare-earth processing capacity, Giredmet has recently signed cooperation agreements with Indian partners, including the TEXMiN Foundation and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, to advance rare-metal and critical-mineral technologies.
