About Permag
Permag is a U.S.-based manufacturer of engineered rare-earth and specialty permanent magnets, formed in 2025 by uniting three industry leaders — Dexter Magnetic Technologies, Electron Energy Corporation and Magnetic Component Engineering — under the Permag brand (parent Magnetic Holdings, LLC). Permag is the only North American producer of samarium-cobalt (SmCo) magnets and also manufactures neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) and Alnico magnets, taking refined powders through milling, pressing, sintering, precision machining and coating to deliver finished magnetic assemblies. The company serves aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor and space markets requiring high-temperature, high-reliability magnetic solutions. In 2025 Permag announced a multi-million-dollar investment to expand domestic SmCo manufacturing capacity at its Electron Energy Corporation facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, more than doubling production, strengthening the U.S. supply chain for samarium, cobalt, neodymium and praseodymium-based magnets.
