About Advanced Magnet Lab (AML)
Advanced Magnet Lab (AML) is a privately held US permanent-magnet manufacturer headquartered in Melbourne, Florida, on the Space Coast. AML is an emerging domestic producer in the rare-earth magnet supply chain, using its proprietary PM-Wire technology, a scalable, modular process that produces sintered and non-sintered permanent magnets in a continuous manner more akin to superconducting wire production than traditional press-and-sinter methods. Rather than relying solely on neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB), AML develops magnets based on samarium-nitride, manganese-bismuth and select NdFeB compositions tailored to specific high-value applications, including defense. The company targets smaller, higher-value markets and operates at pilot scale with plans to selectively ramp production. Backed by growing US government support, including a recent US$2 million Defense Logistics Agency award and continued backing from Royalty Management Holdings, AML is positioned as a contender in rebuilding domestic rare-earth magnet manufacturing.
