About Attero Recycling
Attero Recycling Pvt. Ltd. is a privately held, Noida, India-based electronic-waste and lithium-ion battery recycling company and one of India’s leading recoverers of critical metals and rare earth elements. Founded in 2008 by Nitin and Rohan Gupta, Attero operates state-of-the-art facilities in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, where it processes end-of-life electronics and lithium-ion batteries to recover cobalt, lithium, nickel, copper and rare earth elements such as neodymium, reducing India’s import dependence on critical minerals. Sitting in the downstream, circular-economy segment of the rare-earth supply chain, the company runs Selsmart (a consumer platform for selling end-of-life electronics) and Metal Mandi (a B2B marketplace for recovered and refined metals). Attero has announced plans to scale its recycled rare-earth production capacity from around 300 tonnes to 30,000 tonnes per year, backed by a multi-billion-rupee investment, positioning itself as a key player in sustainable critical-mineral recovery.
