About HyProMag
HyProMag is a rare earth magnet recycling company headquartered in Birmingham, United Kingdom, that produces recycled NdFeB (neodymium-iron-boron) alloy and magnets. It is owned by Maginito Limited, a joint venture controlled by Mkango, and holds an exclusive license to the patented Hydrogen Processing of Magnet Scrap (HPMS) technology developed at the University of Birmingham, which liberates magnet alloy from end-of-life products such as hard disk drives, motors and speakers.
At Tyseley Energy Park in Birmingham, HyProMag has produced recycled NdFeB alloy powder since commissioning its HPMS vessel in 2025 and is commissioning magnet manufacturing; Mkango says it is evaluating a phased expansion to 100-350 metric tons per year and later 1,000 metric tons per year. The company recovers neodymium, praseodymium and dysprosium for reuse, and the HyProMag group is developing sister plants in Pforzheim, Germany, and the Dallas-Fort Worth area of the United States.
