About Xiamen Tungsten
Xiamen Tungsten Co., Ltd. (XTC) is a state-backed Chinese critical-minerals conglomerate headquartered in Xiamen, Fujian Province, and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (600549). Founded in 1958, it ranks among the world’s largest tungsten producers and is a major rare-earth player, operating an integrated chain spanning mining, smelting, separation, deep processing, recycling and energy-storage materials. Its rare-earth business runs primarily through controlling subsidiary Fujian Changting Golden Dragon (Jinlong) Rare Earth, which produces rare-earth oxides, metals, luminescent materials and high-performance NdFeB permanent magnets using neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium and terbium. The group also makes tungsten and molybdenum products, battery cathode materials and energy products. Recent developments include a US$278 million, 20,000-tonne-per-year permanent-magnet plant in Baotou and a 2023 cooperation pact with China Rare Earth Group to develop Fujian rare-earth resources, deepening its downstream magnet manufacturing.
