About China Minmetals Corporation
China Minmetals Corporation is a state-owned mining and metals conglomerate headquartered in Beijing, China, and one of the world’s largest producers and traders of metals and minerals. Founded in 1950 and supervised by SASAC, Minmetals operates across the full critical-minerals value chain, producing copper, zinc, nickel, cobalt, lead, iron ore, alumina, tungsten and rare earth elements through more than 38 mines worldwide. Within the rare-earth sector it historically controlled China Minmetals Rare Earth (Shenzhen: 000831) and contributed its rare-earth assets to the 2021 formation of state giant China Rare Earth Group. The group also controls listed subsidiaries including Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC), Minmetals Capital, China Tungsten High-tech and MMG Limited. A notable recent development is Minmetals taking control of Qinghai Salt Lake Industry, expanding its position in lithium and salt-lake resources.
