Less Common Metals Ltd (LCM) is a rare earth metals and alloys producer based at Hooton Park in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, United Kingdom. Founded in 1992, LCM produces neodymium, neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr), samarium and samarium-cobalt (SmCo) metals and alloys, strip-cast neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) alloy and other specialty alloy systems used in permanent magnets for electric vehicles, wind turbines, robotics and defense applications. USA Rare Earth completed its acquisition of Less Common Metals on November 18, 2025. It says LCM will continue to serve its global customer base while supplying NdFeB strip-cast alloy to USA Rare Earth’s magnet plant in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
